Bridging Theory and Practice: Applying for the ACLS Public Fellows Program for Recent PhDs
Emily Dufton (Center for Public Integrity)
Friday, 22 April, 10:30-12:00 pm
Fine Arts C 102
The successful completion of a Ph.D. requires a variety of valuable skills: cultural proficiency, time management, project management, technological and organizational skills, and analytical ability. The ACLS Public Fellows grant competition highlights the wide applicability of doctoral education in the humanities and humanistic social sciences by placing fellows in two-year public sector or non-profit positions.
In this workshop, Dr. Emily Dufton will introduce participants to the ACLS Public Fellows Program, guide them through the application process, and provide strategies for translating academic skills into accessible language for a wide variety of jobs.
