Graduate Certificate Meet and Greet

The DH Certificate Orientation will be part of the larger orientation to Graduate Certificates on September 29, 2015 from 2-4pm in the Smathers Library, room 100.

Graduate Certificate Meet and Greet
Tuesday, 29 September 2015, 2:00 – 4:00 pm, Smathers Library (East) 100
This informal meet-and-greet will introduce graduate students across disciplines to graduate certificate programs outside of their departments. Our objectives are to foster interdisciplinary work and intellectual communities at UF and to inform students about opportunities for gaining skills and finding careers beyond traditional faculty positions.

Arts in Medicine
Digital Humanities
Educational Technology
Environmental Education and Communication
Fundraising Management
Historic Preservation
Latin American Studies
Medieval Archaeology
Modern European Studies
Museum Studies
Oral History Internship
Public Health
Second Language Acquisition and Teaching
Web Design and Online Communications
Women’s Studies and Gender Research
Some certificate programs will enhance students’ knowledge of their research areas through an interdisciplinary approach and enable students to meet graduate students and faculty with similar research interests in other departments. Others provide training and develop marketable skills for careers outside of the academy in museums, libraries, public health, communications and K-12 education. Some would do both. Please note that some certificate programs can be included in regular requirements and funding packages and some would require additional coursework and funding.
- This event has been co-sponsored by the George Smathers Libraries, the Center for the Humanities and the Public Sphere, and the working group of graduate coordinators in the Arts and Humanities.
